CHRIIISSTMAAAAAAAAS!

It happend much quicker than I expected it to. I guess we’ve just been really distracted by rent/government stuff and terrible terrible dental pain.

But yeah, Christmas was fun this year :) I’ve still got a big pile of miscellanious candy left over, I think I’ve already destabilized my health enough today by eating nothing but sugary junk XD This stockpile will last a long while I think :P

Our old friend Davy (in the Navy 8D) came to visit us, and because of his excess income he bought us Super Smash Bros. Brawl! YAAAAAAAAAY! We showed our thanks by playing many many hours of co-op and regular matches with him. It’s awesome fun, we finally have a good reason to boot up the Wii now! Our online code is 1032-5242-8815 if anyone’s wondering :P

I also got an awesome iPod speaker mount thing from my parents, now I can use it as an alarm. My brother also got a rockin’ waffle iron from his girlfriend. WOO! WAFFLES! we can make waffles now :D no more square pancakes for us!

They also got me some great art books, one of which I’ve been wanting to buy for myself (and hence how my brother knew what to buy ). The former was a book on fantasy vehicles and the other one was fantasy landscapes/cityscapes. This is good, because currently my skills with vechicles and landscapes are crap :O

OOH also have sweet new phone, one capable of actually accessing the internet without getting a gigantic bill :) It’s the Nokia E51, it’s got some great specs, I’ve spent a lot of time customizing the hell out of the apps :P

Wisdom Teeth

Here’s a recap of what I’ve been up to lately, first and foremost, I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. Not fun. I was puffy for days, not to mention nausia and vomiting that kept me away from the computer for a while. Spent a lot of time with frozen peas on my face, especially my top gums which were really puffy. When we got our teeth back yesterday I could see exactly why my top gums were so inflamed. My wisdom teeth were bent all over the place, no wonder the dentist said that they were the worst to remove he’d ever seen.

So yeah, I’ve been spending some time away from Brisbane with the folks, recovering from surgery and stuff. Not a great time to be doing government paperwork, I can tell you that much. Now that I’ve finished all my University classes I’ve got to get my butt into gear and find me a job!

But hey, at least it’s nice to be visiting the parents for the holidays :)

Drats, missed a day. I could just write one today and pretend it was yesterday, but I might as well just write one now. My “write one every day” rule was supposed to be just to get me blogging more, but I guess I should relax that a bit.

Also I’ve been looking for a digital equivalent to my whiteboard. It’s nice to be able to put tasks up there with little magnet dots, but I think I need a more portable todo list. So far I’m trying out Remember The Milk

Bleh, been mostly listless day because of my hayfever or whatever acting up D: Not much to say really.

I may just be imagining things but Torchwood has gotten more and more depressing with the “random shit happens, people die (unless sometimes we save them)” storylines and overall vibe.

More Party

So yeah, went to another another party today. I’m glad I bought a copy of Prey for 360 because he didn’t have it so it was a good choice :P Like the last party we pretty much just ate and drank, although this one had a lot more food because it was a 21st b’day party :D We talked about a bunch of random stuff (including a lot of their high-school hijinx involving dangerous chemicals XD ), which was fun :)

When I got home I watched National Treasure and then (despite it being late enough as it was..) I watched an old cheesy action movie called Big Trouble in Little China, which was amusing :P

Damnit, I spent all that time playing that acursed zombie-killing flash game on that Kongregate contest only to find out that I can’t get the prize because I’m not in the US. Bloody legal crap. Ohh well, on the incredibly rare chance that I do win I’ll just let one of my American friends claim it or something.

So anyway, went out today to buy some presents for people, hopefully they’ll make for good presents, otherwise I’ll have to put together a Plan B :P

Another kinda boring day, although I did manage to get the collision detection working very nicely :D It rained heavily again today as well, I’m just glad we live on the top floor where it’d take a massive flood to reach this high :P I also played some more Kongregate games at last. One in particular was Mytheria, which was obviously inspired by the MTG card game, but it’s nicely made and has some interesting differences. No land, and strength/toughness is calculated differently. I’d recommend it to any MTG players :)

More Rain

Wow it must be the rainy season, the whole day has been either rain or brooding clouds. Nothing much of interest to mention, I’ve been practically obsessed with getting this collision detection working in Flash. I know I should probably stop and do other things, but I really want to get the collision right. Good collision makes a virtual world feel nice and solid, and it’d feel like a better starting ground when I add more onto it. I’ve been kind of messy with my constant revision of it though.
