Another kinda boring day, although I did manage to get the collision detection working very nicely :D It rained heavily again today as well, I’m just glad we live on the top floor where it’d take a massive flood to reach this high :P I also played some more Kongregate games at last. One in particular was Mytheria, which was obviously inspired by the MTG card game, but it’s nicely made and has some interesting differences. No land, and strength/toughness is calculated differently. I’d recommend it to any MTG players :)

Back from the dead, again

Yeah, I seem to have bad habits for keeping things up to date. Upteeth time’s the charm, aye?

This is my last sememster for my University degree, so maybe I’ll use this blog as an actual blog for once and put in some updates about it here. My Design Studio 4 class is going to be putting on an exhibition at the end of the sememster so that project is definately going to eat up a lot of my time. It’s about ‘embodied playfullness’ and involves putting together interactive exhibits. For our project me and my group are planning on building a little ‘city in a bottle’ that is influenced by physical objects. Like blowing into a fan messes with the wind and changing a lamp (w/ dimmer switch) changes the time of day. Not quite a game but then again the exhibition is about playfullness.

Ohh and one more thing, if anyone’s interested I’ve made a new 1.0 version of Leonardo. Enjoy.

I’m not dead! Really!

Bleh, I really wish my every second update wasn’t a “sorry I’m so lazy” post, but old posts look even worse.

The reason I’ve been bad at updates is half because of University assignments, and half because I want to completely remake the site layout. This current one is okay, but it’s too old for me now :( I need something that suits the function of a blog better.

I also hope to get more of my ink-drawing program Leonardo finished once this semester is over. I’ve done some work on it a few weeks back, but it’s unfortunately nothing super-fancy yet. I also think I may have lost another version of the source code, so I need to remake certain bits too :\

Just to let everyone know, I’m still working on Leonardo. Upgrading Visual Studio put a lot of annoying bugs into it that I’ve been trying to work out. I probably should get around to finishing the eraser so I can allow myself a 1.0 version though ^^;

There’s an annoying cursor problem when you look at the open, save or custom color dialogs, but other than that it’s pretty stable.

Because it’s written in C# you’ll need to find the .NET 2.0 Redistributables. They’re easy enough to get, but are around 20MBish. The good news is you’ll only need them once to be able to run most C# apps.

Here’s Leonardo, and here’s the source code for any interested coders. It’s messy because it’s 0.9! :P

I thought I should probably get around to giving out the release of this damn thing before I forget about it ^^;

It’s currently at 0.9 because I want the 1.0 version to be at least as functional as the built-in handwriting feature of msn. As of yet I still need to put in the basic eraser feature >.> It’s more complicated than it sounds…

So anyway, you’ll need the .NET Framework 1.1 to run Leonardo. You might also need some other things but I’m not sure about what, so if you get an error message contact me. I know it’s a pain to have to install around 20MB to run a program less than 1MB, but hey, that’s how microsoft is with their programming stuff. I’ll see what I can do about making a non-.NET version later when Leonardo is more complete.
